The course goal is to describe and explain the issues with opening and operating a successful Dental Practice. Specific course objectives include:

  • Defining “Benchmarks” and Key Performance Indicators within a successful Dental Practice.
  • Associateship Contract - Are you an Independent Contractor or an Employee? And, how does that impact you from a Tax viewpoint.
  • How to Market Oral healthcare Services in 2021 & beyond
  • Identify measures to protect your market despite the advent of Corporate Dentistry.
  • How to obtain financing for your New Start Up or Practice Acquisition, despite your Student Debt.
  • How to build Cash Flows and Forecasts within your Practice to substantiate the Practice Debt.
 
   
A Closer Look at Practice Ownership Through the Lens of a Dental Attorney and a Practice Consultant
Presented by: Malika Azargoon and S. Natasha Gillis, Esq.
The course goal is to discuss the three most common ways that dentists can achieve ownership and how to effectively manage the practice based on method of attainment. Specific course objectives include:
  • Discuss career options in dentistry.
  • Discuss common personality trends that all practice owners have.
  • Discuss the importance of a business plan in determining start-up v. acquisition.
  • Cross- sectional analysis between start-ups, partnerships and acquisitions as means to achieve practice ownership.
  • Lay out the roadmap to start-up, partnership, and acquisitions in terms of timing, process, and contracts as a legal process.
  • Discuss start-up, partnerships and acquisitions from a practice management lens. How are they different and what does each entail, initially, to ensure success?
