The goals of Dentist Day are to:

1. Create and build relationships with legislators.
2. Learn about and advocate for legislation important to the practice of dentistry.
3. Enjoy the camaraderie of organized dentistry.

A virtual format provides an opportunity to try new ideas. This year we are hosting a legislative Q&A with several legislators and making available time to set up meetings during the whole week to provide more flexibility for our legislators and MSDA members. We will continue to provide you with assistance to be educated on the issues, informational materials in digital format for your legislators, and logistical support for confirming meetings.

We’re looking forward to new opportunities and what we hope is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a virtual Dentist Day.

Schedule:

• January 24, 7 p.m. – Pre-Dentist Day Webinar
  This offers participants an opportunity to learn about MSDA’s key legislation, what this year’s virtual Maryland General Assembly looks like, the Dentist Day Seminar on Feb. 16, setting up appointments and virtual legislator meetings.
• Feb. 10, 7 p.m. – Legislation Details Webinar
  New this year, this webinar offers a more in-depth look at the legislation being introduced beyond MSDA’s key bills. This is the best time to ask detailed questions about MSDA legislation as well as other bills that impact small businesses and dentistry in particular.
• Feb. 14-18 - Virtual Legislator Meetings                                                                                                                                           The week-long option gives both dentists and legislators more flexibility in scheduling during yet another virtual session. When you are ready to make an appointment, MSDA will provide you the Zoom link for your meeting and help guide to the meeting other MSDA members who may live or work in the same district.
• Feb. 16, 8-9:30 a.m.– VIRTUAL Dentist Day 
  Back to a more traditional agenda for Dentist Day, we will spend the first hour learning the latest on the Maryland General Assembly, better understanding the issues to discuss with legislators, and asking questions of our lobbying team. The last 30 minutes will provide opportunities to hear from selected legislators and ask questions.
